Being a caregiver for a family member or loved one is often a job that requires a delicate balance of a career, personal family life, and juggling trips back and forth between homes, often leaving little, if any time left in the day. Many family members become overwhelmed with the daunting task of helping a parent or grandparent remain independent in their own home while losing their own by taking on this huge responsibility. Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Care has become an industry leader by offering high quality home care to seniors and other clients needing assistance, such as new mothers and their children, those recovering from surgery or other ailments, and even pets. By offering a complete suite of care services, utilizing a variety of settings, including in-home, in assisted living facilities, retirement communities, and the general public, Acti-Kare gives you the peace of mind knowing that your family member or loved one is being looked after by highly trained, thoroughly screened, and passionate staff.
Kevin Kampfschulte, owner and area director for the Grand Rapids market, graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Supply Chain Management. After working as a production manager for a high profile company for a number of years he decided to return to school to pursue a future in the medical sector. During that time he began volunteering at a local retirement community. While he soon discovered the health sciences were not his niche he did quickly discover his passion of spending time with, and helping, the senior community. It was at this point that Kampfschulte saw an incredible opportunity to positively impact peoples’ lives while also being able to get back into the business world. Having experienced with his own family the importance of maintaining independence as a family member needed a little extra day to day assistance, he jumped at the opportunity to bring Acti-Kare to the Grand Rapids area.
“It is an honor to be able to help my community and its members maintain the independent living style that we all take for granted,“ Kampfschulte states. “We will all reach a point in our lives when we depend on the help of others, and to be able to pay it forward today is an opportunity and responsibility that I take seriously.”
