Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Care personal care aides can provide wide range of services to help the patient make the best recovery possible. Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home Care focuses not just on physical care, but on the whole person. We take the time to understand the patient’s needs and provide help in a wide variety of ways that take the burden off both patient and family caregivers. From personal care, to nutrition, to chores like light housekeeping and errands, the caregiver can help keep the patient’s recovery and life on track while they rest and recover.
Here are some of the ways we can help make accident or surgery recovery faster and more effective:
Acti-Kare caregivers are skilled at following nutritional plans, working with the patient, family, healthcare professionals or nutrition specialists to make sure the patient receives proper nutrition and follows any special dietary requirements. Our caregivers can even shop for ingredients and help make sure that meal plans are set and provided. The Acti-Kare caregiver can track intake and record meals if necessary to make sure the patient is receiving proper nutrition.
Our caregivers are trained to provide sensitive and supportive assistance to patients who cannot feed themselves. For patients in recovery who need help at mealtime, the caregiver can provide eating assistance until the time the patient is ready to feed themselves.
Acti-Kare caregivers are trained and experienced in helping clients with personal hygiene activities such as bathing, dressing, teeth-brushing and toileting. Caregivers maintain a focus on dignity and independence, assisting only as required and desired by the recovering patient.
Caregivers are trained in sensitivity to toileting activities, always providing for privacy and independence while assisting with urinary and bowel care needs to assure patient comfort and health.
Movement is an important part of recovery from surgery or injury, both for physical and mental health. Depending on the client’s needs, Acti-Kare caregivers provide positioning and transfer assistance, assuring proper positioning for different activities, such as eating, reading or watching television. For patients ready to move about, the caregiver can provide mobility assistance for getting in and out of bed, walking and taking moderate exercise. Each patient is different and the caregiver will provide the level of help necessary to help the patient achieve the level of mobility appropriate for their physical limitations.
Acti-Kare Responsive In Home caregivers can help out with simple household chores where needed, such as washing dishes, doing laundry, vacuuming, dusting, taking out the trash, getting the mail, walking the dog, whatever is needed to help keep the daily routine on track and relieve strain on the recovering patient. The caregiver can also run daily errands like grocery-shopping or picking up prescriptions or other care items. They can provide local transportation to activities such as medical appointments or religious services. Acti-Kare Responsive In-Home caregivers are here to help recovery care patients in whatever ways are needed to speed their recovery and make their recovery journey a positive one.
